What People's Say About Place

3.75 stars. If you've been to the extremely popular Pio Pio you pretty much know the deal with Tio Pio. Similar food, similar set up. I ordered the lunch special. It's $9.80 after tax and you get a half a chicken and two sides. It really is a lot of food and a good deal for the area. The food was pretty good. Flavor wise the chicken is as good as Pio Pio but texture wise Pio Pio has them beat. The the exterior of the chicken here isn't browned like the chicken at Pio Pio and it's missing that nice crispy texture you get at Pio Pio. It was still tasty but it seems they use a different cooking method. For sides I got the penne a la Vodka and the collard greens. I didn't expect to see collard greens at a Spanish spot but these greens were not bad! They had flavor and needed no additional seasoning. I also enjoyed the penne a la vodka. Now that I work 2 blocks from this place I will probably return one or twice a month. The food is solid and the lunch special is competitive with anything in the area. Their getting slightly under 4 stars (3.75) because I think the food at Pio Pio is better. I will be back here to try their shrimp/fish/beef offerings and to update the review.

A wonderful find. This lunch stop is neither fast food nor franchise. Their quarter chicken with yellow rice and collard greens special is a bargain. Their rotisserie chicken is tasty as surprising as it may be. Definitely try the green sauce. Salsa verde is a must for Peruvian fare. Their other lunch options are also worthy of your attention.

The food is good but the prices are always different and I always order the same thing

Looking for some cheap but good/filling food in Manhattan? This is the place for lunch or quick take out dinner. I ordered half a rotisserie chicken with fries and it was really good. Wife had the seafood platter which had salmon, shrimp, n rice which she described as "cooked perfectly" all for like $20. Will come back!

Perfect place for lunch. Friendly service very good food. You won't be disappointed .

Great place! Super clean and the prices are probably one of the best in the area. I probably go there twice a week. Def try the rotisserie chicken!
